Education, as
a social process, represents a valuable tool for the transformation
of specific living conditions of mankind; to invest in it is the
best strategy to promote development. For this reason, the schooling
of human assets has become an essential mechanism in terms of international
educational cooperation for the Mexican Government.
The Third Millennium
implies different challenges, the quality of education is one of
the most relevant within Mexicos development. To follow this
path, internal and external efforts have been achieved. We have
signed, within international forums, cultural and educational agreements
that include among other points, Scholarship Programs. Mexico receives
offers from foreign governments and international organizations
seeking to develop human resources in areas considered as a priority.
In accordance with this ideas, Mexico offers scholarships for those
foreigners that are willing to study in Mexican institutions with
relevant academic prestige, and for experts and visiting professors
to participate in different collaboration schemes in the academic
and research fields.
Mexico holds
a dual condition in the field of international cooperation, both
as recipient and supplier of same; it enables our country not only
to ask for aid from more developed nations, but also to offer Programs
to nations of lesser development, and to work within the frame of
horizontal cooperation with countries of similar development. México
considers dialogue between nations as a source of enrichment of
its own culture and identity. For this reason, the development of
human resources and the universities exchange are of the highest
importance. The Government of México opens the current Call
for Applications for Scholarships for the 2002 cycle, within the
frame of agreements established with other countries and with international
organizations, enabling foreign students to carry out postgraduate
studies or specialized research activities at Mexican academic institutions.
This Call for Applications includes different programs for experts
as well.
University exchange
of students, teachers and researchers can lead to a better knowledge
among nations and is characterized by the special interest of participants
to share knowledge and experiences, not only in the field of accurate
sciences, but in social sciences, humanities and arts.
The present
call for Applications for Scholarship includes 79 Programs that
embrace almost all areas of knowledge as well as a set of specific
Programs that imply direct participation of different high level
Mexican educational institutions, basically public ones, but also
the partnership of relevant private institutions. A Call of this
nature has also the advantage of marking off in a precise way the
supply side on this matter, enabling applicants for a scholarship
to identify with ease the field of study and the relevant institution
involved. This will result in a better use of the studies and research
supply for the applicants wishing to obtain the scholarships offered
by the Mexican Government through the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
SRE This Call
for Applications for year 2003 schedules special additional Programs
regarding different subjects to which Mexico can respond in a valuable
way. It also includes a Commemorative Program to celebrate the arrival
of the New Millennium.
